Department Description The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability and security for the business. Technology provides digital tools, software services and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile âstreamsâ aligned to specific business areas. Our other teams work enterprise-wide to provide critical services including our global service desk, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture and design. Technology Governance is responsible for defining Technology-wide standards, controls and reporting to ensure the Technology business is operating effectively and meeting its financial, strategic, assurance and regulatory obligations. The area covers Technology Strategy & Planning, Risk and Controls, Business Resilience, IT Service Continuity and Enterprise Architecture.
Role Summary Reporting to the Head of Technology Governance, the IT Service Continuity Manager is responsible for ensuring the organisationâs key technology services are resilient and in line with the recovery expectations of the business. Key activities will include the delivery of the organisationâs recovery testing, inputting into the design lifecycle for new initiatives and reporting on the status of resilience arrangements both internally and to auditors. Based in our London office and supported by a team of infrastructure and application specialists, the role focusses on minimising the impact of a disaster and/or major incident, caused by the loss or failure of IT Services by ensuring high availability practices are in place, with established and tested recovery runbooks in place. The IT Service Continuity Manager supports the Major Incident Management discipline following a disaster or major incident event, and on a day-to-day basis will work alongside the Business Resilience Manager and counterparts in Risk Management.
Responsibilities Role specific:
- Own, maintain, manage, govern, and communicate IT Service Continuity process, procedures and supporting documentation.
- Ensure recovery documentation is in place and is regularly reviewed and maintained.
- Develop and deliver the suite of technical exercises, maintaining the recovery testing schedule.
- Ensure service recovery assurance from third party Service Providers.
- Identify and govern recovery related risks, as well as maintaining visibility and awareness of related Risks, Issues, and Improvements.
- Provide support for the Major Incident and Problem processes.
- Engage and work with Project teams to ensure the recovery objectives for the firm are maintained and recovery capability embedded.
- Contribute and support the strategic outlook for continuity arrangements for the firm in conjunction with stakeholders.
- Maintain and deliver reports demonstrating the recovery health of key services, issues and remediation activities.
- Work closely with the Business Resilience Manager to ensure the overall delivery of availability and recovery targets are aligned to Business Continuity and Operational Resilience targets.
- Support the Business Resilience Manager in the identification of dependencies and vulnerability assessments.
- Identify opportunities for the improvement, efficiency and effectiveness of the organisationâs recovery and availability capabilities.
- Coordinate where necessary with 3rd party supplier/Exchange recovery testing.
- Produce regular reports and chair relevant meetings with suppliers and stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:
- A proven track record in IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) and can demonstrate that you have worked in an ITSCM function, where you have operated an assurance / risk based managed ITSCM process and exercises.
- Previous experience of working in the Banking/Finance sector is essential.
- Previous experience of working in the trading/exchange sector is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Standard Microsoft Technologies â M365, Windows 10.
- Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory (DNS/DHCPs/GPOs etc.).
- Understanding of Cloud 9 / Foundation IP Technology (Networking/Telephony).
- Understanding of Storage and Fileservers.
- Understanding of Network topologies and protocols, including Exchange connectivity and trade flows.
- Understanding of Cloud Hypescaler resilience models.
Professional Qualifications:
- Preferably degree educated and a BEng/Bsc or equivalent.
- Familiar with or accredited as a Certified IT Disaster Recovery Specialist.
- Familiar with or accredited to ISO22301, ISO27001, ISO31000.
- Affiliated to BCI level AMBCI at a minimum, or equivalent.
- ITIL v4 Foundation.
