Role Summary

To assist the Crude Oil brokers with all aspects of the trade entry process, ensuring timely and accurate trade entry inline with market regulations. Point of contact for clients, broker and internal departments to resolve any queries relating to the trades.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all top day trades are allocated, cleared & accepted in a timely & efficient manner.
  • Supporting the desk with all research reports produced daily.
  • Deal Entry into external exchange systems.
  • Providing Back Office Administration support as required.
  • To ensure written procedures are in place and up to date at all times.
  • Report & escalate issues to your line manager.
  • Assisting the Brokerage Department with Queries.
  • Efficient email management, both of personal and group inboxes.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
  • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/or your supervisor as required.
  • To escalate risk events immediately.

Skills and Experience

  • 1-2 years prior experience in a desk support or trade execution role.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • MS Office skills.
  • A meticulous eye for detail.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this would be an advantage, but is not essential.
