As a Graduate Trainee in Business Management, you will gain exposure to a wide range of projects and activities that support the rapid growth of our business. You will be part of delivering new business initiatives in our COO team and drive improvements in our processes in our Trade Origination team. Working alongside product and subject matter experts across the business you will develop your business and product knowledge, and key skills for your future career with Marex.
You will also be part of the broader Marex Graduate Programme, where you will have the opportunity to expand your business knowledge, network and connect with other Graduates from across the Marex business.
Overall Responsibilities
As a Graduate Trainee in Business Management, you will start by learning the fundamentals on the job and build your experience over time so that you can take on the following responsibilities:
- Chief Operating Office (COO): Our COO team in Marex Solutions plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of new business initiatives for the business. This role relies on building and leveraging relationships across multiple departments to deliver projects and activities that support business growth and optimisation.
- Sales: Delivering new business initiatives, enhancing MI, supporting regulatory initiatives and driving change across the business.
- Trading and Technology: Delivering new platforms for Marex Solutions, improving our internal infrastructure from risk management to client facing platforms.
- Trade Origination: Driving improvement in our processes and documentation to support the rapid growth of our business.
- Governance and Strategy: Supporting growth by ensuring the business complies with and is up to speed with the latest regulatory initiatives, and supporting the business with new strategic initiatives.
Within this role you will:
- Be part of a team to deliver new business initiatives which will include generating ideas on how to improve the management of new business initiatives, establishing project plans and gathering input from departments across the business.
- Creating, reviewing and improving existing MI (Management Information) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to effectively monitor and steer the business.
- Optimise business performance through analysing costs and budgets to identify opportunities for cost rationalisation.
- Driving change for the Marex Solutions team by establishing new processes, reviewing existing ones and identifying enhancements.
- Supporting the assessment of existing platforms and delivering the IT strategy for the Marex Solutions team.
- Supporting regulatory initiatives/projects with the subject matter experts together with Legal and Compliance.
- Support the set-up of new products in the respective systems, developing your product knowledge.
- Grow your network and project management skills by working closely with support teams and the business to complete tasks and projects on schedule and clearly communicate progress.
- Gain an insight into automation by working with the respective teams to review manual structures and agree on automation priorities.

Skills and Experience
- A 2:1 degree or equivalent, coupled with a strong academic track record.
- Strong Excel, Alteryx, VBA or Python skills as well as MS Office skills.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of working in a regulated environment and of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
