The Energy Operations Department supports our Energy Brokers and the clients they serve.
They are responsible for the timely submission of trades onto exchanges and the venues we support, and for providing first‑line support for Trayport and NEON Energy.
To provide direct support to a range of Energy Commodity broking desks with a focus on Oil & Physical markets, we ensure coverage is aligned with each desk’s needs.
Key duties include deal entry into internal and external platforms, trade reconciliations, recapping, and problem solving.
Ad‑hoc responsibilities involve assisting the Energy Client Services team with onboarding new clients and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and SOX requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all top‑day trades are allocated, cleared, and accepted in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work closely with front‑office brokers, providing assistance with all queries and requirements.
- Execute deal entry into in‑house and external exchange systems.
- Configure and monitor counterparty commission rates.
- Perform daily monitoring and problem resolution of downstream internal system feeds and processes.
- Deliver general customer support.
- Report issues to the back‑office supervisor and clearing manager.
- Provide back‑office administration support under the guidance of the OTC back‑office manager.
- Assist the Brokerage Department on relevant queries.
- Manage email efficiently, including both personal and group mailboxes.
- Distribute reports accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA.
- Adhere to the operational risk framework, meeting all regulated and company‑determined parameters.
- Model the highest standards of integrity and conduct, reflecting company values.
- Comply with the FCA’s Code of Conduct at all times.
- Stay fully aware of and adhere to internal policies related to your role.
- Report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/or your supervisor as required.
- Escalate risk events immediately.
- Provide input to risk management processes when required.
