As a Ring Dealer on the LME, our specialist metals team provides 24-hour global market access across base, ferrous, and precious metals including exchange-traded derivatives, off-exchange precious metal products, non-USD precious metal pricing, and market making services. Our long history in the sector means we can provide unrivalled historical data as well as a wide range of daily, weekly and end-of-day reports, with the speed that clients value.
This role covers the LME and other exchanges (CME, ICE, SGX), LBMA function within the METALS department. We are looking for an ambitious, and proactive individual, responsible for a portfolio of Base / Precious metals and broad commodities products. This is a junior level position with the opportunity to work autonomously, and also as part of a team and directly engage with clients.
We’re looking for the commercial ability to maintain good relationships with clients and in time the ability to find new ones to bring flow.
Responsibilities- Dealing in commodity products, in particular Base, precious and ferrous metals products.
- Directly corresponding with clients, including banks, hedge funds, market makers, fund managers, institutionals, trading houses and other trading boutiques.
- Assisting with the onboarding of any new client relationships and maintaining existing client relationships, assisting with support processes as required by colleagues, and engaging and updating clients.
- Working efficiently and supporting with making efficiencies e.g. assisting in the preparation of any new required frameworks.
- Collaboration with central operations functions which support the trading role including but not limited to Operations and Technology.
- Strategising to increase P&L, requiring analysis of markets and products.
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA, NFA and any other relevant governing body.
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
- Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
- At all times complying with the FCA’s and international regulators Code of Conduct.
- Carrying out regulatory activities under the Marex Financial and MSIL trading books.
- Liaising with clients both locally as well as Asia and other regions.
- To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
- To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/or your supervisor as required.
- To elevate risk events immediately.
- To provide input to risk management processes, as required.
- Experience in a client-facing role is desirable.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the financial service markets and relevant regulatory requirements.
