Seeking a highly motivated Biogas / THG broker to join our growing physical Biofuels desk. Experienced role to expand our presence in European renewable gas and certificate markets, with a particular focus on biomethane, biogas, and the German THG quota market. This role is suited to a commercially minded individual with experience in biofuels or related renewable energy markets, who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced brokerage environment and engaging directly with producers, traders, and end users across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Broker physical and THG: Biomethane and biogas (physical gas and virtual) across Europe German THG quota
- Originate and develop relationships with:
- Biomethane producers and end users
- Utilities, gas suppliers, traders, and aggregators
- Compliance buyers and obligated counterparties
Skills and Experience
- Is a native or fluent German speaker (highly preferred)
- Has experience in biofuels, renewable gas, environmental certificates, or gas markets
- Has worked in a brokerage, trading, or origination role
- Has a strong understanding of regulatory-driven energy markets
- Is commercially driven, proactive, and relationship-focused
- Is comfortable dealing with both physical commodities and certificate-based products
- Can operate independently while contributing to a collaborative desk environment
- Analytical mindset with a good attention to detail
- Highly proactive, willing to learn and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Team oriented with a positive professional attitude
- Excellent verbal written and communication skills
