About the Position
Senior Test Engineer – Research & Development – Interior Testing. Reporting to the CPM & Interior Development Group Leader. Based at Marelli Automotive Systems Europe Technology Centre Millbrook Office, UK.
Responsibilities
- Plan, control and execute interior test programs in accordance with IATF 16949.
- Review and analyse customer test specifications and define validation requirements with design group.
- Create and control project test plans for each development phase.
- Conduct root cause analysis for failures and direction of countermeasures.
- Submit project test reports for each application development phase according to milestones.
- Prepare and present necessary documents for design reviews.
- Act as single point contact for internal and external stakeholders for interior testing.
- Plan and execute benchmark test activity for continuous improvement.
- Execute PDCA cycle and propose efficiency improvements.
- Produce reports for management review.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental systems requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of testing experience within the automotive industry.
Other Skills
- Experience of automotive performance testing, preferably with interior components.
- Understanding of automotive performance requirements including legal and safety.
- Project management to meet QCD milestones.
- Lead test reviews with customer and cross‑function teams.
- Plan, lead and execute activities for self and team members.
- Set and review objectives for team members and coach where necessary.
- Analyse and solve problems using engineering tools and techniques.
- Flexibility and ability to work on a variety of tasks.
