Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creation of BOMS and technical drawings.
- Analyse manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in terms of cost, quality, and efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimise production processes and eliminate waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement design changes to optimize costs and improve product quality.
- Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve productivity.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and cost efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in manufacturing and cost management.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Similar post-graduate qualifications are also welcomed.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering and cost estimation, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge in BOM structuring in Manufacturing (Fabrication, Mechanical & Electrical preferred but not essential).
- Systems Knowledge (ERP background).
- High Level of Excel expertise.
- Experience with CAD systems: Auto-Cad, Pro-E, Inventor, Solid Works etc.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing Engineer will work in the operations office and will also spend time on the production floor to gather information and observe manufacturing processes. They may be required to work additional hours to meet project deadlines.
