An established and growing B2B engineering business is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Manager to strengthen and expand its sales function. The role focuses on winning new business, increasing revenue from existing clients and introducing improved structure, processes and tools to support sustainable sales growth. This position is ideal for a proven B2B sales professional with experience in technical or engineering-led environments, who has either managed sales teams previously or is looking to take the next step into a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively generate new business through cold calling, prospecting and developing new client relationships
- Grow and maximise revenue from existing customer accounts through strategic account management
- Identify, qualify and convert new sales opportunities across target sectors, mainly resellers
- Implement and improve sales processes, tools and CRM systems to create a more structured and efficient sales operation
- Lead, manage and/or mentor sales team members as the business continues to grow
- Collaborate closely with engineering and operational teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and delivered
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports and performance updates
- Represent the business professionally at client meetings, site visits and industry events
Key Requirements:
- Strong track record in B2B sales, including cold calling, new business development & account management
- Experience working within an engineering, technical or construction-related product or service environment (highly desirable)
- Ability to balance new business acquisition with effective management of existing accounts
- Previous experience leading a sales team or clear ambition and capability to progress into a sales management role
- Structured, organised and process-driven approach to sales
- Tenacious, proactive and results-focused mindset
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Full UK driving licence
