Network Engineer required for leading Financial Services organisation to work 100% remote with on call. This is an initial 6 months inside IR35 contract role with a strong possibility of moving to permanent.

Skills Required

  • Understand and manage Internal BGP and OSPF routing
  • Understand and manage L2 VRF/Vlan/STP and Mlag, Port-Channel concept
  • Have experience with network monitoring tools and network alerts e.g Observium / Icinga / Nagios
  • Palo Alto - have experience with firewall, IDS/IPS
  • Arista - Managing Arista Switches
  • Python - Scripting for network monitoring and automation
  • Ansible - Network provisioning and automation
  • SONiC management and deployment
  • AWS - basic cloud networking knowledge
  • Certification in AWS or Cisco or Arista or PaloAlto is highly desirable
  • Have a relevant background in financial services - Investment banking/trading

Responsibilities

  • The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of the in-house unicast and multicast network environment.
  • The role will involve: Planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organisation.
  • Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimisation of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
  • Analyse and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and handle security and Firewall requests.
