Marcliffe is seeking an enthusiastic and professional Food & Beverage Assistant to join our 5-star team. In this role, you will help create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest—whether they are dining in our restaurant, enjoying a drink at the bar, or attending one of our private events. You will be at the heart of our hospitality operations, delivering exceptional service and upholding the high standards The Marcliffe is renowned for.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all guests.
- Deliver high-quality service across restaurant, bar, and event operations in line with Marcliffe's 5-star standards.
- Greet and serve guests courteously, taking accurate food and drink orders.
- Prepare and serve a range of beverages, including wines and cocktails, in compliance with licensing laws and hotel standards.
- Set up, service, and clear tables, bars, and event spaces efficiently.
- Support the setup and breakdown of private dining and events, maintaining clean and well-presented areas.
- Liaise effectively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, specials, and wine lists to make informed recommendations and upsell appropriately.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and report feedback to supervisors or management.
- Comply with all food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Support colleagues and management to ensure smooth operation across all F&B departments.
- Represent Marcliffe with professionalism, positivity, and pride at all times.

Knowledge & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a 5-star or luxury hospitality environment.
- Strong understanding of premium guest service and hospitality standards.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices.
- Familiarity with wines, cocktails, and beverage service.
- Understanding of licensing laws and responsible alcohol service.
- Food Safety & Allergen Awareness (Level 2 or equivalent).
- Awareness of Health & Safety and Fire Safety protocols.
- Personal Licence Holder (or willingness to obtain) advantageous.
