Marcliffe is looking for an experienced Director of Sales to join our senior leadership team.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the commercial strategy during an exciting new chapter in Marcliffe's growth, with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future success of the business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead the hotel's sales and commercial function with full accountability for driving revenue across all business streams, including luxury accommodation, weddings, events, food & beverage and corporate business.

The opportunity As Director of Sales, you will develop and deliver an ambitious commercial strategy that drives sustainable revenue growth while strengthening Marcliffe’s reputation as a luxury destination Scotland.
Working closely with the Managing Director, you will identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, lead a talented commercial team and ensure the hotel continues to exceed its commercial objectives.
Key responsibilities Develop and implement the hotel's commercial and sales strategy.
Drive revenue growth across rooms, weddings, events, conferences and food & beverage.
Identify new market opportunities and develop innovative sales initiatives.
Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team.
Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, agencies and key partners.
Oversee revenue performance, forecasting, budgeting and commercial reporting.
Work in collaboration with the hotel’s operational departments to maximise guest experience and profitability.
Working with external consultants and partners to achieve budgeted expectations.
Provide strategic leadership for marketing, working closely with external marketing partners and the Digital Coordinator to deliver integrated sales, marketing, and commercial strategies that drive revenue growth.
Represent Marcliffe at networking events, trade shows and industry functions.
Provide commercial insight and strategic recommendations to the Managing Director.
Play a key role in shaping the future of the business as Marcliffe embarks on an exciting new chapter of growth, investment and development, including opportunities across the wider Woodbank estate.
About you You'll be an inspirational commercial leader with: Proven senior sales leadership experience within luxury or 4/5-star hospitality.
A strong track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
Experience across hotel operations including rooms, weddings, events and food & beverage.
Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship building skills.
Strong commercial awareness with experience in revenue management and CRM systems.
Experience of digital marketing and online sales channels.
A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to inspire teams and deliver results.
A genuine passion for luxury hospitality and exceptional guest experiences.
