Marcilly Recruitment’s UHNW client is seeking an experienced and highly organized House Manager to oversee the smooth running of a private residence in Central London. This is a full-time, permanent position suited to a proactive, discreet and polished professional with previous experience working within high-end private households.

- Location: London - Mayfair office & household based
- Salary: £55,000–£70,000 gross per annum (DOE)
- Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent - onsite five days a week
- Sector: Private Household / UHNW
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm with flexibility outside core hours when the principals are in town
- Start Date: ASAP, but happy to wait a notice for the right person
The House Manager Role
The House Manager will be responsible for the overall management and organization of the residence, ensuring exceptional standards are maintained at all times. This will also involve a lot of property renovations and maintenance.
House Manager Duties will include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the household
- Managing household staff and external contractors
- Scheduling maintenance and ensuring the property is impeccably maintained
- Managing household budgets and overseeing expenditure
- Acting as the main point of contact for the principals
- Coordinating occasional events and entertaining
- Managing inventories, supplies and service contracts
- Ensuring the property is always ready for the principals’ arrival as they travel extensively
- Upholding strict discretion and confidentiality at all times
The Ideal House Manager Candidate
- Proven experience as a House Manager within an UHNW private residence or someone coming from the yachting industry
- Strong leadership and staff management skills, with a "do as I do" approach NOT "do as I say"
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Financially literate and confident managing household budgets
- Discreet, professional and calm under pressure
- Flexible and hands-on when required
- Based in London or able to commute easily
- Strong IT skills to manage various software. The successful House Manager must be very comfortable with a computer
- Perfect English, both written and spoken
