Role: Head Housekeeper

Days: Monday–Friday Hours: 09:00–18:30

Location: Chelsea, London

Salary: £18–20 per hour, depending on experience

Marcilly Recruitment is proud to be representing a distinguished private UHNW family based in Chelsea, who are seeking an exceptional Head Housekeeper to join their fully staffed household team. This is a hands-on Head Housekeeper position requiring the very highest standards of presentation, discretion, and professionalism. The successful Head Housekeeper will bring prior experience from a comparable luxury environment and will take genuine pride in maintaining a private residence of this calibre.

The role of Head Housekeeper will suit a candidate who thrives in a structured, high-expectation household and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Head Housekeeper:

  • Maintaining the residence to five-star standards at all times
  • Performing detailed daily housekeeping, deep cleaning, and organisation of all living and storage areas
  • Managing laundry, ironing, garment care, packing and unpacking, and full wardrobe organisation
  • Monitoring household inventories and restocking supplies proactively
  • Preparing guest suites and assisting with formal and informal entertaining as required
  • Liaising with the House Manager to identify maintenance issues and coordinate repairs
  • Ensuring all household areas remain guest-ready at all times
  • Assisting with seasonal organisation, travel preparation, and special household projects
  • Some light family cooking may be required
  • Some travel with the family may also be required

Skills and Competencies required for the Head Housekeeper role:

  • Minimum five years' experience in a comparable Head Housekeeper or senior housekeeping role within a UHNW private household, luxury estate, yacht, or five-star hotel
  • Exceptional knowledge of luxury housekeeping standards, fabric care, and surface treatments
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and to a consistently high standard
  • Professional demeanour with excellent communication skills
  • High level of discretion, loyalty, and emotional intelligence
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel when required
  • Fluent English essential; Tagalog or Spanish an advantage
  • Must be able to travel to the USA and obtain an ESTA Visa
  • Full right to work in the UK required
