Domestic Couple (Housekeeper & Driver / Household Assistant) | Oxford

Marcilly Recruitment’s client, a lovely UHNW family currently based in Prime Central London and relocating to Oxford, is seeking an experienced and professional Domestic Couple to join their fully staffed private household, with one partner as Housekeeper and the other as Driver / Household Assistant. The Domestic Couple will begin with a trial and training period at the family’s London residence before transitioning permanently to Oxford, with the move expected by Easter (timings may change). The family is happy to consider a Domestic Couple already based in London or Oxford, or willing to relocate.

The ideal Domestic Couple will be polished, discreet and hardworking, bringing complementary skills to the household. The Housekeeper will keep the home running to an exceptional standard, while the Driver / Household Assistant will provide reliable driving for the family alongside practical support around the home. A security background is not required.

Salary: £115,000 gross per annum combined (Housekeeper £55,000 / Driver / Household Assistant £60,000)
Benefits: Accommodation
Start date: ASAP for the Housekeeper, December for the Driver / Household Assistant
Hours: 9 hours per day each. The Driver / Household Assistant works six days per week, Sundays off
Location: Oxford (initial trial and training at the family’s London residence)

Domestic Couple Requirements

Housekeeper

• Experienced, hardworking and polished, with a high standard of housekeeping
• Previous experience in a fully staffed private household is preferred
• Comfortable around children, dogs and guinea pigs

Driver / Household Assistant

• A calm, safety-conscious driver with proven private driving experience
• Clean UK driving licence
• Confident and comfortable around children
• A flexible, hands‑on all-rounder who is happy to muck in
• Available six days per week, Sundays off

Both partners

• Discreet, reliable, well presented and a genuine team player
• Based in London or Oxford, or willing to relocate
• Excellent written and verbal references
• Happy to undergo a full background check
• Right to work in the UK

Domestic Couple Responsibilities

Housekeeper

• Keeping the family home immaculate, with close attention to fine finishes and care of furniture, art and collectibles
• Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care, including specialist garments
• Changing beds and towels, and preparing the home for guests
• Supporting packing and unpacking ahead of family travel
• Restocking household essentials and assisting with ad hoc errands

Driver / Household Assistant

• Safe, punctual and professional driving for the family, including the children
• Keeping the vehicle clean, checked and up to date with servicing
• Running errands and assisting with light gardening
• Supporting general household duties when not driving

Together

• Working alongside the wider household team to keep the home running smoothly
• Maintaining complete discretion when working closely with the family
