Astute’s Power Servicing team is partnering with a well-established critical power company to recruit an Electrical Generator Engineer near Cambridge with UK wide travel required. The strategically important Electrical Generator Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £50,000 + Van + Benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Generator Engineer role:
- Lead installation and commissioning of diesel and gas generators from delivery through to operational handover.
- Oversee major and minor servicing to ensure generator reliability, efficiency, and compliance with maintenance schedules.
- Conduct and analyse generator load bank testing to verify operational performance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex faults across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Complete and review service documentation and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Carry out site surveys and inspections of generator systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Time-served or apprentice-trained electrical skillset with experience working on industrial scale equipment.
- 7+ years’ experience in generator installation, maintenance, and fault finding.
- Strong understanding of diesel and gas generator systems, control panels, and switchgear would be advantageous.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
