Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Philosophy, Religion and Ethics teacher with a passion for excellence and innovation in teaching. The role leads the Philosophy, Religion and Ethics Department and contributes to raising standards across the school.

Requirements to be successful

• Be able to teach Philosophy, Religion and Ethics across the whole ability range in KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Have skills in communication, collaboration, listening, adaptability, empathy, and patience.
• Possess outstanding teaching ability.
• Think creatively to anticipate and solve problems.
• Embody the values of Achievement through Caring.
• Have high expectations of yourself and be a role model to others.
• Play a pivotal part in the Philosophy, Religion and Ethics Department.

Key Responsibilities

• To support the Headteacher and SLT in meeting whole school priorities and realising the Academy\’s shared vision.
• To take responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning in the subject area.
• To provide the strategic direction for the subject area to raise standards and secure continuous improvement across the whole department.
• To provide leadership and management for the delivery of the subject.
• To ensure the efficient and effective use of staff and resources for the subject are a.
• Support and promote strong positive working relationships, deploying staff appropriately.
