A leading independent senior school in York is seeking a Psychology & Sociology Teacher from January 2026 to support its growing Social Sciences faculty.

Psychology/Sociology Teacher required from January 2026. York (Bishopthorpe Area) – Independent Day School. Seeking a specialist able to deliver GCSE and A-Level Social Sciences with a strong focus on human development, research methodology and applied social studies.

You will teach across KS4–KS5, supporting high-achieving students and contributing to pastoral initiatives, interdisciplinary projects and academic enrichment.

Experience and Qualifications

  • QTS desirable; strong social sciences teaching experience essential.
  • Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Policy or a related field.
  • Experience supporting progression to university-level study.
  • Ability to differentiate for a range of learning profiles.
