An ambitious Good primary in Leicester is recruiting an inspiring Year 5 Teacher to join its KS2 team on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 5 Teacher will take part in pre-term planning prior to January 2026, attend induction during January 2026, and be teaching from January 2026 as the Year 5 Teacher. This Full-Time Year 5 Teacher role offers the chance to lead curriculum projects, run enrichment activities and help shape assessment practice across KS2.

Year 5 Teacher Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver knowledge-rich sequences in maths and English as the Year 5 Teacher.
  • Use assessment to personalise learning and run targeted interventions as the Year 5 Teacher.
  • Lead extracurricular enrichment, coordinate trips and support transition into Year 6 as the Year 5 Teacher.

The Year 5 Teacher will be involved in moderation gatherings before January 2026 and will continue to develop standards after January 2026.

Year 5 Teacher Requirements

  • QTS and proven KS2 experience expected of the Year 5 Teacher.
  • A Year 5 Teacher with strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management and collaborative instincts.
  • Able to prepare prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 5 Teacher.
