This Full-Time Year 2 Teacher post begins with planning and handover ahead of the January 2026 start; the successful Year 2 Teacher will attend induction in January 2026 and will be classroom-ready from January 2026.

Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities:

The appointed Year 2 Teacher will plan and teach systematic phonics, guided reading and sequenced writing units. The Year 2 Teacher will develop number fluency and problem-solving, use formative assessment to target interventions, and run small-group booster sessions. The Year 2 Teacher will liaise with families, lead termly reports and contribute to enrichment activities. The Year 2 Teacher will also support transition work from Reception into Year 2 in the weeks preceding January 2026 and following the January 2026 start.

Year 2 Teacher Requirements:

We seek a reflective Year 2 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), recent KS1 experience and confident phonics practice. The ideal Year 2 Teacher demonstrates strong classroom management, creativity in pedagogy and the ability to close gaps quickly. The Year 2 Teacher will be expected to take part in induction and CPD starting in January 2026, and to teach full-time as a Year 2 Teacher from January 2026.

Contract & start details:

This is a Full-Time Year 2 Teacher post beginning January 2026. The Full-Time Year 2 Teacher will receive structured induction in January 2026, mentoring and ongoing professional development from January 2026 onward. The Full-Time contract provides a stable base for career progression.
