Whether you are looking for occasional work alongside other commitments, regular teaching days, or the opportunity to secure a longer-term role, daily supply can provide the flexibility you are looking for.

About the Role

As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will deliver lessons across your specialist subject and appropriate year groups, ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported in the absence of their usual teacher.

Assignments can vary from single-day cover to longer-term placements. Depending on the school and role, you may be provided with detailed lesson plans and resources or asked to deliver lessons using your own professional judgement.

You will be expected to establish positive relationships quickly, maintain strong classroom management, and follow each school's expectations regarding behaviour, safeguarding, and professional conduct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach pupils across KS3, KS4, and KS5 where appropriate

  • Follow lesson plans and departmental schemes of work

  • Maintain positive behaviour and classroom management

  • Support pupils with their learning and development

  • Follow school safeguarding and health and safety procedures

  • Provide appropriate feedback to permanent teaching staff

  • Maintain a professional and positive approach throughout each assignment

You can choose the days you are available and gain experience across different secondary schools in Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas. If you are considering a permanent move, supply can also provide the opportunity to experience different schools before committing to a longer-term position.

Assignments may include:

  • Single-day cover

  • Regular weekly supply

  • Short-term placements

  • Longer-term teaching assignments

  • GCSE teaching

  • KS5 teaching where appropriate

  • Subject-specific cover

  • General classroom cover

  • Strong classroom practitioners with effective behaviour management skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
