Core Responsibilities
- Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-impact, practical lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, with a focus on Product Design, Timber/Metal/Polymers, or Engineering.
- Technical Instruction: Providing expert tuition in the safe use of traditional workshop machinery (lathes, millers, brazing hearths) alongside advanced manufacturing tools (3D printers, CNC routers, and laser cutters).
- Iterative Design: Guiding students through the full design cycle—from identifying user needs and sketching to CAD modelling and high-quality prototyping.
- Curriculum Innovation: Developing projects that solve 21st-century problems, integrating systems and control (electronics) and the "circular economy" into the schemes of work.
- Exam Mastery: Mentoring GCSE and A-Level cohorts through AQA or OCR specifications, with a rigorous focus on technical theory and high-standard Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) portfolios.
- Health & Safety Leadership: Maintaining a strict culture of workshop safety, ensuring all risk assessments are current and student practice meets DATA (Design & Technology Association) standards.
