Are you an ambitious UKS2 Teacher who thrives on designing coherent, knowledge-rich curriculum sequences? A progressive primary in Havering is recruiting a UKS2 Teacher to join an experienced upper Key Stage 2 team from January 2026. The UKS2 Teacher will teach across upper Key Stage 2, delivering engaging lessons that develop pupils’ reasoning, subject knowledge and independence. This UKS2 Teacher will lead targeted interventions, support cross-phase moderation and contribute to whole-school curriculum design. The appointed UKS2 Teacher will benefit from strong subject leadership, collaborative planning time and a structured induction ahead of January 2026 to ensure an effective spring-term start.
Role responsibilities:
- Plan ambitious UKS2 curriculum units that sequence knowledge clearly and build cumulative understanding.
- Use formative and summative assessment to identify priorities and design high-impact interventions.
- Lead small-group work and support TAs to deliver scaffolded activities for diverse learners.
- Contribute to subject leadership tasks such as moderation, resource development and CPD delivery across Havering.
- Liaise with families and external partners to support transition and enrichment activities.
Person specification:
- Qualified teacher with clear experience in upper Key Stage 2 and evidence of strong classroom impact.
- Confident curriculum planner with secure subject knowledge and excellent behaviour-management skills.
- Reflective, collaborative and committed to CPD; able to work effectively across the Havering school community.
- Available to begin January 2026 and to attend induction and preparatory planning before January 2026.
