Enjoy variety in your working day and have practical maintenance skills? A group of primary schools across the Chippenham and Tetbury area is looking for a reliable Roaming Site Technician/Caretaker to provide temporary site support from August 2026 through to December 2026.

This is a great opportunity for a practical individual who enjoys working across different sites rather than being based in one location. You'll travel between a number of primary schools, helping to ensure their buildings, grounds and facilities remain safe, secure and well maintained.

A van and tools will be provided, making this a particularly convenient opportunity for someone looking for a temporary role with plenty of variety.

The Role

You'll provide general caretaking and maintenance support across the schools, with responsibilities including:

  • Carrying out general repairs and maintenance

  • Checking buildings and grounds are safe and secure

  • Supporting basic plumbing, decorating and DIY tasks

  • Responding to day-to-day maintenance issues

  • Carrying out routine site checks

  • Helping prepare school spaces for activities and events

  • Supporting the wider estates team across different school locations

About You

The schools are looking for someone practical, dependable and comfortable working independently across multiple sites.

Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities or site experience would be beneficial, although candidates with good practical skills and a hands-on approach are encouraged to apply.
