An ambitious secondary school in Telford is looking to appoint an experienced Data Manager to oversee the school's management information systems and ensure the accuracy, integrity and effective use of student and staff data. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised individual with excellent analytical skills who enjoys working with data to support school improvement and informed decision-making.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, curriculum teams and administrative staff to ensure that all school data is accurate, accessible and compliant with current regulations. You will play a key role in supporting assessment, attendance, reporting, examinations and whole-school performance analysis.

Data Team

As Data Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the school's Management Information System (MIS).

  • Maintaining accurate student, staff and assessment data.

  • Producing reports for senior leaders, governors and external agencies.

  • Supporting examination data preparation and analysis.

  • Managing timetable and curriculum data where required.

  • Coordinating assessment data collection and reporting cycles.

  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection legislation.

  • Providing training and support for staff using school data systems.

  • Developing reporting processes that improve efficiency.

  • Identifying trends through data analysis to support school improvement.

  • Working closely with attendance, examinations and administrative teams.

  • Ensuring all statutory returns are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Data Manager or within school data administration.

  • Excellent knowledge of Management Information Systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
