A successful secondary school in Telford is looking to appoint a dedicated and highly organised Attendance Officer to join its pastoral support team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who understands the importance of excellent attendance in improving student outcomes and enjoys working collaboratively with students, families and staff to remove barriers to education.
Working closely with the Attendance Lead, Heads of Year and safeguarding team, you will monitor attendance across the school, identify patterns of concern and implement early intervention strategies to support students and families. You will become an important part of the school's pastoral provision, helping to ensure every student has the opportunity to attend regularly and achieve their full potential. This varied role would suit someone who is organised, approachable and confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

The Attendance Team works proactively to promote excellent attendance while providing support and guidance to students and families. As Attendance Officer, you will ensure attendance procedures are implemented effectively while maintaining accurate records and supporting early intervention strategies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality.
- Contacting parents regarding unexplained absences.
- Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's MIS.
- Producing attendance reports for senior leaders.
- Identifying attendance trends and implementing interventions.
- Working closely with Heads of Year and safeguarding staff.
- Liaising with external agencies where appropriate.
- Meeting with parents to discuss attendance concerns.
- Supporting reintegration following long-term absence.
- Promoting attendance initiatives across the school.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory attendance guidance.
- Providing administrative support to the wider pastoral team when required.

Requirements:
