Job Overview
Music plays a central role in this school's co-curricular and academic life. You will deliver high-quality practical and theoretical Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Music / Vocational Music Practice), with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level Music / Music Technology teaching for a suitably qualified candidate.
Working closely with departmental colleagues and visiting peripatetic tutors, you will guide pupils through keyboard skills, vocal performance, ensemble work, composition, and music technology software. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent post.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE / Vocational Music)
- Guide pupils through composition tasks using school equipment and digital software (e.g., Logic Pro, Sibelius, GarageBand)
- Direct and assist with extra-curricular ensembles, choirs, bands, and seasonal school concerts
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress across practical performance, composition coursework, and listening exams
- Maintain classroom instruments, practice rooms, and music technology hardware safely
- Serve as a Form Tutor, delivering pastoral care, tracking, and student wellbeing support

Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)

- An active enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
