The successful candidate will help maintain the school’s buildings and grounds and ensure the environment remains safe, secure and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting opening and closing procedures.
- Carrying out routine site inspections.
- Completing minor maintenance and repairs.
- Undertaking basic DIY tasks.
- Monitoring the condition of classrooms and communal areas.
- Maintaining playgrounds and outdoor spaces.
- Moving furniture and equipment.
- Supporting deliveries and storage.
- Assisting contractors and maintenance providers.
- Reporting defects and maintenance issues.
- Supporting health and safety checks.
- Assisting with fire safety procedures.
- Preparing rooms for school events.
- Supporting the wider premises team as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a school premises, caretaking or facilities environment is essential.
- Good practical maintenance skills.
- Understanding of school health and safety procedures.
- Reliable and proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently.
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
