A welcoming primary school in Wiltshire is looking to appoint an experienced Reception Teacher to lead early years from January 2026. The Reception Teacher will design rich indoor and outdoor provision that develops communication, early literacy and number, and will use high-quality observation to plan next steps for every child. This Reception Teacher post in Wiltshire will begin January 2026, and induction and handover will be provided in the weeks prior to January 2026.

The Reception Teacher will work closely with families to support routines and early-year development, lead transition planning into Year 1 and mentor support staff in implementing continuous provision. The Reception Teacher will be part of a reflective team committed to inclusive practice and strong outcomes across the Wiltshire setting.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver a play-rich EYFS curriculum that develops language, independence and early number.
  • Use detailed observations to inform planning and to set precise next steps for each child.
  • Lead transition into Year 1 and maintain strong liaison with parents and carers.
  • Support and develop TAs, manage learning journals and ensure the environment promotes curiosity and learning.
  • Contribute to whole-school early-years priorities and professional development in Wiltshire.
Person specification
  • Qualified teacher with solid Reception/EYFS experience and confident assessment practice.
  • Creative, organised and excellent at building relationships with families and colleagues.
  • Enthusiastic about working in Wiltshire and able to start January 2026.
