About the School
A supportive school in Hove is seeking an enthusiastic Library and Learning Resources Assistant to help maintain an organised, accessible and engaging library environment. The successful candidate will support pupils and staff in accessing resources and encourage positive reading and independent learning habits.
About the Role
Organise, catalogue and maintain books and learning resources.
Assist pupils with locating suitable reading materials and using library facilities.
Manage book loans, returns and overdue items.
Maintain an orderly, welcoming and well-presented library.
Support staff with sourcing resources for lessons and projects.
Assist with reading initiatives, displays and library activities.
Monitor library use and encourage appropriate behaviour.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous library, school support or learning resources experience is desirable.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Confident communicating with children and young people.
A genuine interest in reading, literacy and education.
Comfortable using digital cataloguing systems and Microsoft Office.
Patient, approachable and able to work independently.
An enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the role.
