CORE PURPOSE
We require a technically proficient educator to lead practical, theoretical, and portfolio-based instruction within our Design and Technology suite. The role involves managing workshop safety while challenging students to bridge abstract engineering concepts with physical material production.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
- Instructional Delivery: Plan and execute rigorous practical and theoretical lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE and Vocational pathways).
- Workshop Safety Governance: Enforce absolute health and safety compliance, including machine maintenance, personal protective equipment (PPE) routines, and safe tool handling.
- Technical Portfolio Management: Guide students through the design, prototyping, and evaluation phases of their coursework folders to meet strict exam board criteria.
- Material & Stock Coordination: Partner with the technical support team to manage material inventory, oversee CAD/CAM machinery calibration, and structure preparation schedules.
- Pastoral Responsibilities: Lead an assigned form group, managing daily registration, monitoring attendance, and acting as the primary point of contact for parents.
