Wayman Education is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and dedicated teacher of psychology to join a highly successful social sciences department at an exceptional secondary school and sixth form in Steyning. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, taking a leading role in teaching an incredibly popular subject choice at GCSE and A-Level.

Key responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging psychology lessons that inspire students across GCSE and A-Level specifications.
Plan and sequence innovative schemes of work that develop students' understanding of core psychological theories, research studies, and ethical applications.
Assess, track, and report on student progress and attainment in line with exam board specifications (such as AQA or Edexcel), implementing targeted interventions where necessary.
Actively contribute to the wider life of the school and the department, including sixth form open evenings and subject promotion initiatives.
Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic achievement, creating a positive, safe, and purposeful learning environment.
Requirements
Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in psychology or a closely related social science discipline.
Experience: A proven track record of teaching psychology within a UK secondary school or sixth form setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
Skills: Exceptional subject knowledge across core topics (such as cognitive, developmental, social psychology, and research methods), confident classroom management techniques, and excellent communication skills.
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
