Drama Teacher

Wayman Education is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and passionate teacher of drama to join a creative and vibrant performing arts department at an exceptional secondary school in Steyning. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver inspiring practical and theoretical drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 delivery for an appropriately qualified candidate.

Key responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging drama lessons that inspire and challenge students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Develop innovative schemes of work that balanced practical performance skills with the study of dramatic texts and practitioners.
Assess, track, and report on student progress and attainment in line with exam board specifications, providing constructive feedback to support development.
Support and contribute to the school's extra-curricular performing arts program, including school productions, clubs, and theatre visits.
Maintain high expectations for student behavior and achievement, cultivating a safe, inclusive, and collaborative studio environment.
Requirements
Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in drama, theatre studies, or a closely related discipline.
Experience: A proven track record of teaching drama within a UK secondary school setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
Skills: Exceptional subject knowledge, confident classroom management, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
