The Role
- Teach English language and literature to mixed-ability KS3 and KS4 classes.
- Plan accessible lessons with appropriate challenge and support.
- Develop pupils' reading comprehension, written expression and examination technique.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and identify pupils requiring intervention.
- Work with pastoral staff and the English department to support pupil engagement.
The Candidate
- Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Has effective classroom management and communication skills.
- Can adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs.
- Is reliable, flexible and committed to pupil progress.
