A welcoming and quaint primary school in St Albans is looking to appoint a School Site Assistant to help maintain a safe, secure and well-presented environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The Role

Working closely with the Site Manager and school leadership team, you'll assist with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school site. From carrying out minor repairs and setting up classrooms for events to helping ensure health and safety standards are met, you'll be an integral part of the school's smooth day-to-day operation. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys a varied workload and takes a proactive approach to problem-solving.

What We're Looking For

  • Has previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities or site support role.
  • Is confident carrying out basic repairs, decorating, plumbing and general maintenance tasks.
  • Has a good understanding of health and safety procedures within a workplace.
  • Can work independently, prioritise tasks and respond calmly to unexpected issues.
  • Is organised, dependable and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
  • Enjoys working as part of a close-knit school community and has a flexible, positive attitude.
  • Has good communication skills and is able to build positive relationships with staff, pupils and contractors.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Has the legal right to work in the UK.
