We are currently seeking an experienced, dependable and highly organised Site Manager to join a well-regarded secondary school in Hampshire. This is a full-time, permanent position starting January 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate), offering an excellent opportunity for a skilled facilities professional to take a leading role in the smooth running, safety and maintenance of a busy and thriving school campus.

About the Role
As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of site operations, maintenance and compliance. Daily duties will include:
- Managing the maintenance, cleaning and security of the school site
- Leading a team of caretakers, cleaners or contractors as required
- Ensuring full adherence to health and safety policies, statutory checks and compliance regulations
- Overseeing planned maintenance, minor repairs and improvement projects
- Managing the opening and locking of the site and overseeing emergency callouts
- Supervising contractors, ensuring safeguarding and health & safety protocols are followed
- Monitoring stock, ordering supplies and managing site-related budgets
- Maintaining high standards across classrooms, communal spaces, grounds and external areas
- Supporting room setups for events, examinations and school activities
This is a hands-on role requiring initiative, practical ability and excellent leadership skills.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience in site or facilities management (school experience ideal but not essential)
- Strong practical and maintenance skills across repairs, DIY and minor works
- Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation and statutory compliance
- Experience supervising staff or contractors
- Good organisational ability and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work flexibly and respond promptly to site-related issues
- Must hold or be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
Salary
Paid according to experience and aligned with local support staff pay scales.
