An outstanding Secondary Academy in Southampton is seeking a professional, mathematically minded, and exceptionally organised Physics Specialist to join their prominent Science faculty. This is a premier opportunity to work within a well-structured and supportive school environment where physics is a highly popular option at Key Stage 5, backed by extensive laboratory equipment arrays and dedicated technical engineering support.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional leadership across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The timetable will involve delivering a rich, challenging curriculum covering Newtonian mechanics, field theories, quantum phenomena, and nuclear astrophysics for GCSE and A-Level exam cohorts, alongside delivering general science modules across Key Stage 3. Beyond classroom teaching, responsibilities include:

  • Constructing comprehensive student tracking portfolios
  • Implementing targeted intervention tracks for technical data fluency
  • Managing laboratory asset logs
  • Supporting the school's regional engineering challenges and astronomy societies

You will act as a primary link with parents, examination boards, and local university engineering departments, requiring absolute professionalism and data accuracy at all times. Strong organisational skills are a prerequisite, as you will balance heavy mock diagnostic marking cycles with real-time digital progress logging and strict laboratory health and safety compliance tracking (CLEAPSS frameworks). The academy is looking for a proactive, reliable professional who can break down complex mathematical proofs and physical laws into crisp, high-impact lessons.

This is an 11 to 18 well-established Academy in Southampton with a powerful commitment to technical innovation, academic rigor, and student welfare.
