Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching & Learning
    • Deliver engaging and academically rigorous Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for Key Stage 5
    • Plan well-structured lessons that encourage critical thinking, discussion, and independent reflection
    • Develop pupils’ understanding of world religions, ethics, philosophy, and contemporary moral issues
    • Differentiating teaching to ensure challenge and support for all learners
    • Prepare pupils effectively for internal assessments and public examinations
  • Assessment & Progress
    • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress using a range of assessment strategies
    • Provide high-quality feedback to support academic improvement
    • Use data effectively to identify gaps in learning and implement targeted support
    • Support pupils in developing strong exam and essay-writing techniques
  • Student Support & Pastoral Care

Person Specification
  • Essential
    • Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Philosophy, or related subject
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    • Experience teaching Religious Education at secondary level
    • Strong subject knowledge and passion for the discipline
    • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
    • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
  • Desirable
    • Experience teaching Religious Education in a private school setting
    • Experience teaching GCSE and/or A Level Religious Studies
