A leading co-educational independent day and boarding school in Somerset is seeking an inspirational Science Teacher to join their thriving Science Department from January 2026. The school educates approximately 950 pupils aged 11–18, including a Sixth Form of 250, and has a long tradition of academic excellence balanced with pastoral care and enrichment. Science is one of the school’s flagship departments, with over 70% of Sixth Form students opting for at least one science at A-Level and a strong record of university progression to Oxbridge, Imperial, and top Russell Group institutions.
About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent post offering the opportunity to teach Science across KS3–KS5, with the option to specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. The department encourages curiosity, experimentation, and independent thought through an inquiry-based curriculum. Lessons are supported by highly qualified technicians and a modern science block equipped with eight laboratories, fume cupboards, and digital data-loggers. The successful teacher will contribute to the school’s vibrant co-curricular programme by leading STEM clubs, science fairs, and enrichment trips. There will also be opportunities to support Oxbridge preparation and lead initiatives linked to sustainability and environmental science.
