A welcoming secondary school in Solihull is looking to appoint a dependable and proactive Site Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation, safety and presentation of the school site. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to ensure the school site remains safe, secure, clean and fully operational. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and wider premises team, you will take pride in maintaining high standards across the campus while responding efficiently to the daily demands of a busy school environment.

This role requires someone who is organised, practical, approachable and able to work independently while managing a varied workload.

Premises Team

The premises team plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of the school. They ensure the buildings remain safe, secure and well maintained while responding quickly to maintenance issues and preparing facilities for the wide range of activities taking place throughout the school day.

As Site Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Opening and securing the school site each day.

  • Carrying out regular health and safety inspections.

  • Completing routine maintenance and minor repairs.

  • Monitoring contractors while ensuring work is completed safely.

  • Preparing classrooms, halls and outdoor spaces for school events.

  • Undertaking basic plumbing, decorating and maintenance tasks where appropriate.

  • Ensuring heating, lighting and building systems operate efficiently.

  • Conducting regular site security checks.

  • Supporting emergency procedures where necessary.

  • Managing deliveries and ensuring equipment is stored safely.

  • Reporting larger maintenance issues and coordinating repairs.

  • Assisting with statutory compliance checks and maintaining accurate records.

  • Supporting the school's commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all users.

The successful candidate will become part of an experienced premises team that works collaboratively and takes great pride in maintaining the school to an exceptionally high standard.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within premises, facilities or site management is desirable.

  • Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.

  • Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
