A high-performing secondary school in Slough is seeking an inspiring Teacher of Economics to join its Business & Social Sciences faculty for an immediate (ASAP) start. This is an exceptional opportunity for a practitioner passionate about economic modeling, market analysis, and building financial confidence in young people.

Economics plays a prominent role in this school’s Sixth Form academic identity. The successful applicant will deliver intellectually stimulating Economics lessons primarily across Key Stage 5 (A-Level Microeconomics and Macroeconomics), with potential contributions to Key Stage 4 introductory business modules.

Working closely with the Social Sciences department, you will guide pupils through market structures, macroeconomic policy, data interpretation, and evaluative essay writing, while coaching economics debate teams. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging theoretical and applied Economics lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5
  • Lead extra-curricular commercial initiatives, such as Student Investor challenges and Economics societies
  • Guide A-Level pupils through quantitative data analysis, economic diagrams, and written exam preparation
  • Utilize digital business suites and real-world commercial case studies to enhance learning
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress across analytical essays and formal examinations
  • Fulfill pastoral duties as a Sixth Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing and UCAS applications
