We are seeking a proactive, skilled Site Manager to take strategic and operational responsibility for the security, maintenance, health and safety, and overall facilities management of our school campus. Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, the successful candidate will lead the premises team, manage external contractors, oversee capital works projects, and maintain a safe, high-quality learning environment for all pupils and staff.

The site management team serves as an essential operational engine within the school, utilizing digital asset tracking systems and planned maintenance frameworks to keep facilities running smoothly, safely, and efficiently every day.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS- Strategic Premises Management: Plan and execute statutory maintenance schedules, manage site improvement projects, and oversee daily premises operations across the campus.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Serve as the Lead Health & Safety Officer, conducting risk assessments, fire safety checks, water hygiene (legionella) monitoring, and COSHH compliance checks.
- Security & Keyholding: Manage site security routines, oversee CCTV and access control systems, respond to emergency alarm call-outs, and maintain perimeter integrity.
- Contractor & Project Supervision: Negotiate, monitor, and evaluate external maintenance contracts (HVAC, cleaning, grounds, catering equipment), ensuring work is completed safely and to budget.
- Team Leadership & Budgeting: Supervise premises and cleaning staff, delegate maintenance logs, process work orders, and manage the site operational budget alongside the Business Manager.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualification in facilities management (e.g., IWFM), building trades, or IOSH Managing Safely. First Aid and Manual Handling certifications are highly desirable.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Site Manager, Premises Manager, or Facilities Coordinator within an educational setting, trust, or public sector facility.
- Skills: Strong practical maintenance skills, in-depth knowledge of building regulations and health & safety law, proficient IT skills, and strong team leadership capabilities.
