A progressive Secondary Academy in Slough is seeking a professional, highly organized, and technically skilled Premises Manager to oversee the physical operations, security, and maintenance of their school estate. This position is perfect for an experienced site supervisor, assistant premises manager, or skilled trade specialist ready to step into a leadership role managing a dedicated on-site team of caretakers and maintenance staff.
The successful candidate will take strategic and operational responsibility for the daily upkeep, safety compliance, and mechanical operations of the school campus. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the caretaking team’s shift schedules
- Managing reactive maintenance tickets on the school's digital helpdesk
- Acting as the primary point of contact for external maintenance contractors
- Taking hands-on ownership of the school’s statutory testing schedules—including weekly fire alarm checks, water hygiene logs (Legionella prevention), emergency lighting tests, and security asset tracking
You will work closely with the Business Manager to draft capital works bids, monitor utility usage profiles, and ensure the estate is fully compliant with all health and safety legislation (COSHH and HASAWA frameworks).
