An Outstanding Mixed Secondary School in Slough is seeking an organised and enthusiastic Food Technology Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their highly successful Design and Technology department. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a vibrant and modern culinary environment where students are encouraged to develop nutritional knowledge, culinary confidence, and practical cooking skills across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

The successful candidate will inspire teaching and learning by delivering engaging, high-quality practical and theoretical lessons. You will maintain a pristine and well-ordered food room, manage ingredients and resources effectively, and ensure that the kitchen classrooms remain safe, hygienic, inspiring, and fully equipped for hands-on learning.

Responsibilities will include planning and delivering curriculum content covering nutrition, food provenance, and complex culinary techniques, as well as strictly enforcing health, safety, and hygiene procedures (HASAW/COSHH) throughout the department. You may also assist with hospitality events, healthy-eating initiatives, and departmental enrichment activities across the school.

The role requires someone who is practical, highly organised, and deeply enthusiastic about Food Science, Nutrition, and Hospitality. Strong attention to detail, excellent classroom management during practical sessions, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are essential.
