THE SCHOOL

Our academy operates as an ambitious, forward-thinking secondary school dedicated to high academic standards, entrepreneurial spirit, and cultivating strong global citizenship. The campus features state-of-the-art business suites, dedicated digital boardroom spaces, and a collaborative, commerce-focused humanities faculty. Our behaviour management framework is built upon clear professional workplace expectations, consistent routines, and mutual respect, maintaining a calm, highly purposeful learning environment that allows pupils to confidently lead enterprise pitches and independent market research.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS

  • Enterprise & Corporate Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-quality business lessons across academic and vocational pathways, embedding real-world corporate case studies to demystify financial accounting, marketing strategies, and operational logistics.

  • GCSE & Post-16 Examination Tracking: Guide examination cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal GCSE theory papers, BTEC vocational coursework, and linear A-Level Business assessments, meticulously tracking progress data to maximize high-grade boundary retention.

  • Closing Applied Attainment Gaps: Identify and target learning barriers, deploying structured data analysis scaffolding, quantitative business-maths modelling, and targeted literacy interventions to accelerate progress for all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND).

  • Industry & Enterprise Liaison: Support and lead the department’s extracurricular enterprise initiatives, establishing links with local businesses to coordinate guest speaker modules, young enterprise competitions, and workplace projects.

  • Workplace Pastoral Mentorship: Fulfil full form tutor and professional mentor responsibilities within an established year group structure, managing daily registration, delivering digital literacy and financial capability units, and maintaining proactive, supportive communication with families.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, Management, or a closely related commercial discipline.

  • Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics and high-tier performance across both terminal public GCSE/A-Level exams and vocational BTEC National structures.

  • Dynamic & Professional Ethos: An unwavering commitment to comprehensive business education, demonstrating the business acumen, clarity, and adaptability required to stretch high-achieving corporate analytical minds while building baseline financial confidence in pupils of all abilities.

REGIONAL CONTEXT

  • The Silicon Alley & European Corporate Hub: Based in the thriving commercial town of Slough, Berkshire, the school capitalizes on a unique regional identity positioned at the heart of the Slough Trading Estate—the largest single-ownership industrial park in Europe. As a major multi-national corporate headquarters hub and a cornerstone of the UK's "Silicon Alley" tech corridor, the local landscape provides unparalleled, real-world links for supply chain mechanics, multinational corporate strategy, digital marketing, and tech-driven entrepreneurship, connecting classroom theory directly to global industry giants and booming tech enterprises.

  • Connectivity & Infrastructure: The campus benefits from premium South West London and Thames Valley transport infrastructure, offering straightforward road commuting via the M4, M25, and M40 motorways. Public transit links are exceptionally rapid and efficient, utilizing a comprehensive local bus network alongside Slough railway station, which provides high-frequency Elizabeth Line and Great Western Railway services linking the school directly to Reading, Windsor, Maidenhead, Paddington, and Central London in under 20 minutes.
