A creative secondary academy in Slough is seeking an innovative Art & Design Teacher to join its Visual Arts department for an immediate (ASAP) start. Known for its spacious art studios and vibrant student displays, the school seeks an artist-educator to teach Fine Art, Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Art & Design). Working alongside experienced art colleagues, you will guide students through project research, technical skill development, contextual studies, and portfolio curation. This is a full-time, ongoing or permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach inspiring Art & Design lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level)
- Guide Sixth Form pupils through creative portfolio building for university and art foundation course entry
- Assist in organizing and hosting annual student art exhibitions and showcases
- Maintain studio environments, print presses, ceramics equipment, and art supplies safely
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing Key Stage 4 and 5 cohorts for non-exam assessments (NEA)
- Serve as a Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing, attendance tracking, and academic progress
