The Role
- Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, specialising in Resistant Materials or Product Design
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons that balance technical theory with workshop practice
- Supporting pupils with coursework, NEA (Non-Exam Assessment), and design portfolios
- Promoting high standards of workshop safety, tool maintenance, and health & safety
- Encouraging creativity, precision, and independence in design-and-make sessions
- Utilizing modern technology including 3D printers and laser cutters to enhance student outcomes
- Contributing to wider school initiatives and extracurricular design challenges
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and confident practical classroom delivery
- High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress
- A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and inspiring technical environment
