The Role

  • Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, specialising in Resistant Materials or Product Design
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that balance technical theory with workshop practice
  • Supporting pupils with coursework, NEA (Non-Exam Assessment), and design portfolios
  • Promoting high standards of workshop safety, tool maintenance, and health & safety
  • Encouraging creativity, precision, and independence in design-and-make sessions
  • Utilizing modern technology including 3D printers and laser cutters to enhance student outcomes
  • Contributing to wider school initiatives and extracurricular design challenges

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and confident practical classroom delivery
  • High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress
  • A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and inspiring technical environment
