A large and inclusive secondary school in Plymouth, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SENCO to join their leadership team from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent role, offering the opportunity to shape the school’s SEND strategy and ensure every student has the chance to thrive.

About the Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading and coordinating all aspects of SEND across the school, ensuring early identification and targeted support. They will work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and external professionals to embed inclusive practice and monitor student progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, including identification, assessment, and intervention.
  • Develop and implement effective support strategies for students with a range of needs.
  • Coordinate staff training and promote inclusive classroom teaching.
  • Liaise with families, health professionals, and external agencies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team and governors.
  • Support a team of Learning Support Assistants to deliver effective intervention programmes.

Experience and Qualifications
