The Role
The SEN Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support and small group interventions, working alongside teachers and the SENCO. Responsibilities include supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they can access the curriculum fully. You will assist pupils with focus, engagement, and behaviour, implementing strategies from SEN plans and EHCPs. Your role will also involve supporting pupils’ social development, fostering confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support for SEN pupils
- Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning
- Implement behaviour and emotional support strategies
- Support social and communication skills development
- Monitor and report on pupil progress
- Assist during breaks, lunch, and transitions

- Have prior experience as an SEN TA in a primary school
