About the Role
As School Nurse, you will provide day-to-day healthcare support, respond to medical needs and work collaboratively with school staff to maintain a safe and supportive environment. You will help manage pupils' individual healthcare requirements while promoting healthy habits and wellbeing across the school community.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing first aid and responding appropriately to illness and injuries.

Supporting pupils with medical conditions in line with individual healthcare plans.

Administering medication in accordance with relevant guidance and school procedures.

Maintaining accurate, up-to-date and confidential medical records.

Communicating with parents, carers and healthcare professionals when necessary.

Promoting health awareness and supporting pupil wellbeing initiatives.

Following safeguarding, infection control and health and safety procedures.
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a caring and organised professional with the clinical knowledge and confidence to support children and young people.
Applicants should have:

Relevant nursing qualifications and current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Previous nursing experience; paediatric or school nursing experience would be advantageous.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in medical situations.

Excellent record-keeping and organisational skills.

A clear commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and pupil welfare.
